Michael smiled brightly at August. He couldn't believe that after 28 years, he was finally marrying his first and only true love. For every obstacle they had to overcome, it just made their special day all the more sweeter.
As Michael took her hands in his, he mouthed, "Are you feeling okay?"
"Yes. I'm fine," she whispered in return.
"Bride and Groom by coming here today, you have now taken the initial step in what hopefully will be a wonderful and successful marriage together. It is to my understanding that you have chosen to say your own vows.
Mr. Jackson, You may now proceed."
August-- Before you came back into my life, I would have never dreamed in a billion years that I would find true love again. We both found this special love in each other many years ago, but somehow we let it slip away... But it was never forgotten. Just a few months ago, I had given up on finding true love and romance. The love that I was seeking could only be found in you. Fortunately for us, the universe intervened.
I'd like to recite a poem that I wrote in the 90s. This poem takes on a personal meaning for me now and seems to hold true for us.
[Michael Recites Poem]
"I said you had to do it. You said you didn't want to. We talked about it, and we agreed that maybe I could help. I said you were wrong. You insisted you were right. We held each other's hand, and right and wrong disappeared. I began crying. You began crying, too. We embraced, and between us grew a flower of peace. How I love this mystery called We. Where does it come from, out of thin air? I thought about this mystery, and I realized something: We must be love's favorite child, because until I reach out for you, We is not even there. It arrives on the wings of tenderness: it speaks through our silent understanding. When I laugh at myself, it smiles. When I forgive you, it dances in jubilation. So We is not a choice anymore, not if you and I want to grow with one another. We unites us, increases our strength; it picks up our burden when you and I are ready to let it fall. The truth is that you and I would have given up long ago, but We won't let us. It is too wise."Look into your hearts," it says."What do you see? Not you and I, but only We."
"I, Michael, choose you, August, to be my lover, friend, and confidant for all time. Maybe the walls will tumble, and the sun may refuse to shine, but when I say I love you. Baby, you gotta know that's for all time."
After Michael finished reciting his vows, there wasn't a dry eye in the house. August tried to keep from crying but was deduced to a puddle at Michael's feet.
"Thank God for waterproof make-up," she said while smiling through her tears and dabbing her eyes dry.
"Ms. Williams, You may now proceed."
Michael-- Oh, how I love saying your name. For many years, I tried to block-out my feelings for you. Thinking about the love we once shared and lost was just too painful for me to bear. Luckily for us, the heavens took pity upon two hapless souls and brought them back together.
Michael... I'd like to sing a song for you. It's a song that's very special to me, and it sums up the love that I hold for you inside of my heart.
[August proceeds to sing]
"Here we are on earth together
It's you and I
God has made us fall in love, it's true
I've really found someone like you
Will it stay the love you feel for me, will it say
That you will be by my side
To see me through
Until my life is through
Well, in my mind, we can conquer the world
In love you and I, you and I, you and I
I am glad at least in my life I found someone
That may not be here forever to see me through
But I found strength in you
I only pray that I have shown you a brighter day
Because that's all that I am living for, you see
Don't worry what happens to me
Cause' in my mind, you will stay here always
In love, you and I, you and I, you and I, you and I
In my mind we can conquer the world
In love, you and I, you and I, you and I"
"I, August, take you, Michael, to be my lover, friend, and companion to love for all time. Loving you is more than just a dream come true, and everything that I do, is out of loving you."
"Do you, Michael Jackson, take August Williams to be your wife?"
"I do," he stated softly, as he slid the wedding ring on August's finger.
"Do you August Williams, take Michael Jackson to be your husband?"
"I do," she replied sweetly as she slid the ring onto Michael's finger.
"Throughout this beautiful ceremony, The bride and groom have professed their love for one another. With the exchange of the wedding rings, they have cemented their love, and now it's official. By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you Husband and Wife. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate! You may now kiss the bride."
The newly Mr. and Mrs. Jackson smiled tenderly at each other just before Michael planted a passionate kiss on August's lips. "Slow down, baby, the honeymoon is coming soon," she teased.
"Why don't we just skip the reception and fly out to 'Maldives' tonight instead of tomorrow" he replied in jest.
After the wedding reception, Michael and August returned to their bedroom feeling exhausted. They needed to awake early the next morning to pack for their honeymoon in 'Maldives.'
As August sat on the bed between Michael's legs, he nibbled softly on her ear during their conversation.
"We finally did it, Mrs. Jackson! Oh, baby... You have made me so happy! Thankyou August... Thank you for your love, thank you for our baby and thank-you for just being you," he spoke gingerly.
"Michael, I love you. You are an amazing man; I should be thanking you, Mr. Jackson! Thank you for your love and commitment to us. You're the best baby!" She spoke in earnest.
Michael's heart was filled with gratitude. He felt a pure sense of happiness for all of the good things that were to come. He had his wife, kids, and a new baby on the way. Life was good, and he felt content.
